Scoring: soprano solo, baritone solo, amplified piano four hands solo, 2 flutes (1. flute/bass flute, 2. flute/alto flute), 1 oboe, 2 clarinets (1. B contrabass clarinet, 2. B bass clarinet), 2 saxophones (1. alto saxophone, 2. tenor saxophone), 1 F horn, 2 B trumpets, 2 trombones, 1 bass tuba, 2 percussion players, amplified harp, accordion, 2 violins, 2 violas, 2 violoncellos, 2 contrabasses.

The piece was commissioned by Wratislavia Cantans international music festival in Wrocław, Poland, within Composition Commissions by Republic of Poland Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The piece is comprised of three movements played without breaks. The first movement is played by the ensemble, placed around the audience and the soloists are not present in the concert hall. In the second movement the solo pianists join the ensemble. At the beginning of the third movement the both singers enter the hall and start singing their parts from the rear portion of the hall, behind the audience. Subsequently they move in the cours of the movement towards the stage and finally join the
pianists onstage. The vocal text is a compilation of exerpts derived from Totality and Infinity by Emmanuel Levinas in Polish tra
nslation by Małgorzata Kowalska. The premiere took place on September 8, 2013 at Wrocław Philharmonic, during Wratislavia Cantans festival. The piece was performed by Anna Ciuła – soprano, Maciej Straburzyński – baritone, Lutosławski Piano Duo: Emilia Sitarz and Bartłomiej Wąsik –
